It's Elementary

Peter Cushing as Sherlock Holmes. I actually never cared for the Holmes character until I saw Peter Cushing play him. Now I think he's pretty awesome. His Holmes is my Holmes.

I'm still trying to get the hang of this digital painting thing, and I wanted to do this as a sort of warm-up piece before I start painting Rod's Christmas present this weekend. I did this at work when I found a few spare moments, and overall I think it took me around two hours to do. I'm trying to get faster.

Our Hammer Horror marathon has now turned into a Peter Cushing marathon. We've been trying to track down some of his more obscure films, and it's been a lot of fun. Peter Cushing is brilliant, brilliant guy. The more I learn about him the more I love him.

We asked for a bunch of Cushing films for Christmas, so I'm hoping we will get a few of them. One of the films I'm really looking forward to watching is Cash on Demand, a hard-to-find film from 1961. We had to buy a bootleg of it on eBay but it hasn't come in the mail yet. It's gotten rave reviews from what I've read, and it's a real shame that it hasn't come out on DVD yet. I wonder who makes those decisions, anyway. They should put me in charge of them-- I'd sort it out.

Next post will be more Christmas-ish. I'll post my other old Doctor Who Christmas drawing from back in the day. I just need to track it down first.
